A small selection of the many amazing comments we received following the event on 27th April 2019.
Hi John. I just wanted to thank all of the organisers of the event and especially the course marshals who stood at the roadside in that horrendous weather: they are the ones who truly deserve a medal.
I hope it was a success and the fundraising went well.
Hi I Just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for organising the ride on Saturday, in what were very difficult conditions. I did the 99, the route was excellent and very well sign posted. Once again many thanks.
Excellent course, genuinely enjoyed the weather! Thanks to all involved especially the flapjack maker on checkpoint 11.
My first ever sportive and one I will never forget, it had it all. 40mph headwinds, fallen trees and angry farmers. I did the 66 route and loved every mile, would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who made the event happen and to the kids at the finish line handing the medals out. Next stop the velo but Route 66 will take some beating for sheer excitement.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to all involved in the organisation of this event. A big shout out to the support marshals who were super supportive. You all really did make my first sportive an enjoyable one...roll on the next one!
Thank you to all the organisers and Marshal's for the excellent route. Not to mention the fabulous flap jack at the water stops. The encouragement from people along the route meant a great deal as it was the longest ride We had undertaken plus my first major ride in clipless pedals. The wind was tough at times. I hope everyone completed the event safely.
Thank you to Nova Raiders for today, very well organised event and really good route. The weather was horrendous but the morale from the volunteers definitely kept us going
Hi John, Just to say thanks for a cracking event yesterday, shame about the weather but it made the event a little more challenging!!! Bang on, those that didn't turn up missed out! A big thanks to all the helpers at water/ feed stations!!! Roll on the giro de joules and free beer, lol!!!!
Just to say thank you to everyone who helped today. It made a great event. If there is one thing worse than cycling in this weather it is standing around helping i know i've been there. Wind proof route arrows great feed stop and it didn't rain. Thanks
Thank you John. Great route. The wind you added to make it harder was probably a mistake. Well for first half anyway. Thanks again
Just a quick message to say thanks for a great route today, the roads were in good condition and the route well marked. A big thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time. The weather didnt spoil it for me despite its best efforts, again thanks to all.
Correct call not to cancel. Weather was challenging but not as bad as forecast. I did the 66 . Great new route and well signed . Thanks to all involved at feed stations etc. Your support and my collegues got me through it. Chapeau if you did the 99 miles and nice reception at finish.

Kudos to all the organisers, Marshalls and helpers of todays Route 66. Many many thanks for the hard work you have already put in.
On behalf of the Newport CC Kids that road the 33 (well 40 with the cafe detour), I would like to thank Nova Raiders for a fabulous event today. The Route 33 was extremely well supported with very friendly volunteers and riders.
On behalf of NSCC's satellite club, 'Breaking Chains', I would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic team and organisers of yesterday's Route 66 - always a brilliant event! You all made us feel so welcome. Completing this well-organised and challenging ride has given the guys in the club a massive boost of confidence and sense of achievement. Simply getting to the start line of something like this would have been unimaginable a year ago for these guys...never mind completing it with a smile on their face!
The road to recovery from addiction is always going to be tough. By giving us the chance to take part in a truly wonderful local event, surrounded by warm and friendly people in stunning scenery, you have all just made the journey that little bit more manageable. THANK YOU!

Fabulous ride out on Route 66 today, great organisation, marshalling, signage, water stations, weather & fab medal - great to have hot food at the end - other sportive's could learn from this ! - thank you Raiders and everyone that made this such a great event
Very well organised
Thank you for an absolutely brilliant Sportive. I was not fully prepared for cycling to both Everest and K2 base camps but it was fantastic! The food stations were brilliant and the staff manning them were wonderful. Brilliant route, a lot of Sportives could learn from yours. Thanks!
I've never wished to join a cycling club, however, if you were closer I would without doubt want to.
To all the organisers of Route 66 and volunteers on road junctions and feed stations (you all know who you are) a big big thank you - all the hard work and support keep us all going and all your back room preparation definitely paid off xx
Quick note to offer my congratulations and thanks to all involved in organising what was a great event on Saturday. Really lovely vibe throughout. Looking forward to joining you again next year and, after sampling the beer, have a keen eye on the September event. Best of luck, Sean
